about

Some twenty years after the release of his first and last solo album Paraphony: Extended Harmonic Techniques, Mark van Tongeren returns with a collection of pieces recorded live in the years between. Unlike the first album, which was entirely vocal, Travel to the Moon features mostly instrumental pieces. You can hear many types of Jew’s Harp, albatross bones, an African thumb piano, overtone singing with a shruti box and (as bonus tracks) a piece on the double nose flute from the indigenous Katipul people of Taiwan and a duet with Hans de Back on frame drum.

All recordings were made during live concerts between 2004 and 2020. Minor distortions can be audible on some tracks.

The CD includes
- 10 tracks + 3 bonus tracks
- 44 minutes playtime
- double digisleeve with durable high-grade cardboard CD-insert
- titles and info in English and Mandarin.
- seal in an eco-friendly wrap.
